The salad plentiful, fries were seasoned and there were lots of them, and the burger was good. Service ok. For a $10.00 meal it was great!

We rolled into town a little too early for lunch at 11 am. They don't start serving lunch on the weekends until 11:30. So, we had some breakfast and it was quite good. Their breakfast potatoes were outrageously delicious. The place is decorated with stuffed animal heads on the walls. Also, they put the names of some of their customers on the wall and give them a symbol like one that would be used on a ranch.

This place was basically across the street from the Arroyo Robles Wine Tasting Room and the menu looked pretty good so we decided to grab a quick lunch here before heading down the street to the Firestone Walker Brewery. We got a tri tip sandwich with garlic fries and we got potato skins with cheese, sour cream, and bacon. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was pretty good overall. The tri tip, while tender was a little on the dry side, and the bbq sauce that came on the side helped moisten it up a bit. That is generally not my favorite way to have tri tip, but it got the job done.

Alls I know for sure is that they make good chip shots here (coffee, Baileys & Tuaca) as well as the bartender's own made concoctions like the Pumpkin Pie martini (sounds worse than it really is!). Also, who doesn't love a saloon replete with dead animals and skins all over the wall? Just like being in Texas.

I am not sure the food is the best in town. But the vibe is awesome, the draft Firestone is fresh and cold, and the people are friendly. I like the nachos in particular with the Santa Maria style pinquito beans. The burgers are gigantic and sloppy as you would expect. Nice place to detox with a cold beer after a full day of wine drinking :)

More like 3.5 stars. If you're in Paso Robles near the Plaza, this is the place to see locals. Abundant food, nice servers, Western themed decor. This is part of a small local chain, I think, with another restaurant near Pismo Beach.

I'm a carnivore through and through and I love steak, but I mostly love the way I make steak so I'm kind of picky. Over they years my family has come here a lot (as well as the Shell Beach and Arroyo Grande locations.) Breakfast is great but dinner usually left me underwhelmed-especially in the steak dept because they were always over cooked----until NOW! We recently celebrated my 9 year olds bday there because like her mother she's a true carnivore! We were a party of 6 and our waitress was amazing.) Not sure what her name was, but she had brown hair and is expecting.) Everyone loved their dishes and the revamped menu. Our 9 year old's steak was ordered medium and it was cooked to perfection! Grandma got 1/2 order of ribs that was HUGE! Thankfully, the hubs sat next to her and helped her eat three of them. Fish tacos and the calamari were also great. Looking forward to coming back again.

The tri-tip sandwich was very good ! The service was excellent and a friendly staff. Other plates being served looked really good and a lot of food.

Hadn't been there in a couple of years, decided to go to lunch. Ordered the Park Burger (their hamburgers have always been great) . Asked if we could sub a salad for the FF, waiter said no problem. Brought the salad before the burger. The burger was supposed to be 1/4 lb, it was a little bigger than an Oreo cookie. Showed the waiter & he said they use a slider patty for the Park Burger, then he came back from the kitchen with another explanation. They weigh each patty @ 1/4 lb, & the cook didn't smash it down enough, to accommodate the BIG buns! Whatever! When the Bill came, we were charged $1.95 for the salad that we were told could be sub'd for the FF. Certainly won't be back!

Have loved the McLintocks in Pismo and San Luis Obispo for years, so decided to see what this one was all about while we stayed the night in Paso. Happened to be there on Thursday night, so it was great to be able to watch the football game. Had delicious little sliders plus Happy Hour cocktails and it was a nice little dinner. Loved all the stuffed animals, and even saw some real 'cowboys at the bar. Fun!

As a native of Atascadero, CA just south of Paso Robles, our family and friends have visited McLintocks many times over the years. The service from the staff has had its ups and downs over the years, but the food has generally been solid. If you do hit this place up, I recommend calling in advance to get a reservation, especially on a weekend. Paso is a huge tourist town and trying to fight to get a table or even a spot at the bar can be challenging.

So sad. Been going to McClintocks in Shell Beach for 20 years. Totally different experience in food and atmosphere. No skillet beans, potatoes etc. Everything ++. Will need to look for new options in Paso Robles.

Finally! Food and mead with fellow warriors! Good beer and tasty food. Ive been here a couple of times when visiting Paso Robles and am pleased with the consistency. Nothing that knocked my socks off, but also nothing to complain about. Friendly service, and a good family atmosphere, conveniently located in the heart of the downtown district close to everything.

Went there for brunch. When we arrived we were seated in a booth. The hostess said a server would be with us shortly. About 5 minutes passed then someone other than out server took our drink order, which consisted of three waters. After receiving our drinks we were left at our table unattended to for at least 15 minutes. I then went and asked for a manager and brought the lack of service to her attention. Our sever arrived shortly after and took our order. We then waited patiently for our food but after a half hour to forty-five minutes no food was in sight. We then asked the manager about the status of our order she replied with attitude "I am checking on it now". We then packed up out belongings and went to the Downtown Brewery where the service was seamless. I understand that restaurants have their challenges like any other business and mistakes are made. I refuse to support businesses who fail to communicate what is going on or treats me poorly as a customer. This is not the first time I have received sub par service here buy definitely the worst. I would rate this establishment as zero stars but my app won't allow it. I hope the service here improves for others sake. I don't plan on returning.

So disappointed, great potential there, but they lost a good customer today. I ordered my favorite menu item, the western burger. When it came I could clearly see a thick long black HAIR coming out from under the bun. When she came back I showed her and she look mortified, took it back and brought me back a fresh burger. When my ticket came I was expecting some sort of discount for what we had went through. Our appetite had basically been ruined. Nope nothing. So I requested she take it back and tell the manager I want a discount. She brought it back with a whopping 10% discount and two free cookies! I believe the manager was Irving at the time. Didn't even come over and apologize or anything. Never going back.

Had a wonderful experience at the Paso saloon for dinner. Paso has a lot of really nice restaurants-but a lot of them aren't necessarily for a family with young children. I love the warm family friendly feel of this restaurant. The food and the service has always been great for us-we feel comfortable here and it's why it's one of our local favorites. Kids eat free on Sundays-we like that a lot :)

Paso Robles is a favorite stop for us on the way to the coast but this time we decided to stay. The city park area has a quaint feel to it and while shopping in the area we noticed McLintocks. The cowboy-ish style peaked out interest so we stopped in. Greeted immediately and brought to a table where we could see the bar TV. Our waitress was there within moments and with a constant smile, took out drink order. Although it was well past breakfast, but not yet lunch, I ordered the biscuit's & gravy, wife ordered the ham & eggs. WOW! Big ham!!!! She couldn't eat it all so lucky me, I got half. My gravy was fantastic, even though my belly can't tolerate spices it had just the right amount without being overbearing. Oh, and the Bloody Mary's were customer made for me because of my inability to take spices, nice customer service issue here! Both were excellent, cooked to order and at a decent price. We loved the food, atmosphere and service so much that we're planning on returning for dinner. Stated simply, a very nice place!

Unfortunately, no amount of wine tasting in the world is going to cover up the fact that the food here is mediocre and the service is just plain abysmal. If you're the kind of person who either likes to look at dead animals or if you want a bunch of 'em staring at you while you eat, then you're in luck because this place is hunter heaven. We shared nachos and a burger with fries. Nachos were nondescript bordering on gross and while the burger was slightly better, I wouldn't exactly call it good. Our waitress started out okay but then disappeared for long stretches of time. I'm pretty sure she not only forgot about us, but to also put in the rest of our order. The wait time was horrible. There are too many great places in Paso to waste your time and money here. If it weren't for it's decent downtown location I'm not sure this place would exist.

Hands Down (Or Up, if that's your thing), the best dad-gum burger this side of the Mississippi. This is a great place if your doing the Paso Robles wine thing and don't want the hoitey-toiteyness of other cafe's and downtown Bistros. Also of very importance - their french fries blows away any others i have had in recent months. The service on a Wednesday 1:30 PM Holiday Week was great. The bartendress was prompt, friendly, and responsive. Order the Firestone Draft as they brew it less than 3 miles from Saloon. Tab for the afternnoon including two 16 oz. drafts $30 Bucks plus $5 tip. Three Hoots on a Two Hoot scale Hoo Hoo Hoo!!!

We were wandering in downtown Paso the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, looking for a local place to eat. After checking a few places with fancy menus but few customers, we came across McLintock's. It was about 1/2 full at the time (5:30), and since that was more than most of the other places, we decided to give it a try. For the most part, that turned out to be a good move. The atmosphere here is fun and authentic, the service fast and friendly, and the food wasn't bad. I had the chicken dinner special, and it reminded me of something Grandma used to make. However, my GF's salad had overcooked beef, so she sent it back, and the server handled this nicely. A complaint. When we were seated, the host took our order for wine by-the-glass, at a price of about $14 for both. After it arrived, the server told us that on Tuesday (i.e., that night) the beverage special was wine by-the-bottle at 1/2 price. Had the host mentioned that at the start, we would have spent less for an entire bottle than we paid for two glasses. Overall, this was a pleasant experience. Not sure we will rush back to McLintock's, but it will be on our radar the next time we are in the area.

Had the filet with mashed garlic potatoes. Good service and great food. A little pricey for what you get, but it was good. The Range in Santa Margarita is MUCH better.

Family and I went last nite and the food was way awful. Service was slow and all the food to include the appetizers were cold. Would not recommend to any one looking for A great steak dinner. I would recommended AN Spurs in Templton or AGAIN.

This is my third try at beating the Baron of Higuera burger challenge. I'm oh for three. I know I'm a wuss and can't eat a pound and a half burger and fries. But that's not the point. The Baron is a great burger. I think since they have to make it special they take a little more care with it. Order it medium and the first two quarters of the burger a amazing. Juicy, flavorful goodness. The second half (at least for me) suck because I'm super full and just want the t-shirt for finishing soooo bad. So, if anyone wants to make a quick 20 bucks, let me know if you can beat this challenge and get me my t-shirt. I tried to bribe the waitress last time and she wasn't having it. Also. If you have never had the trail camp beans, you suck and your life has no meaning.

Unhappy with the food and service. Vegetable was so tough a steak knife could not cut it. Took what seemed like forever to get food. Waitress did not ask if we wanted refills or dessert. Plus we were overcharged. We shall not return

Have been twice and think it is pretty good. Service was excellent (perhaps they've read the yelp reviews and had some serious "sit down and come to Jesus " conversations with their staff... Can't say too much bc I ordered the same thing both times: tri tip sandwich, which was excellent. Sadly my friend Jeff ordered the fish tacos (I know, I know...it's a BBQ place)...but he specifically made a point to ask how they were and even added a "really???" when the waitress said they were good. Verdict? Don't order fish tacos in a BBQ joint: no seasoning...bummer. My kids were enthralled by all the mounted animal heads that are everywhere...depending on their imagination this could go either way. In any case, we've been told of another BBQ place in Templeton that we will check out next time...apparently they, too, sport the stuffed animal head decor...and might just have better food.

The food used to be good. Now it's terrible. Luke warm at best. The western BBQ burger didn't have any BBQ sauce on it and the burger was a hockey puck. I will never eat here again!

My experiment here was terrible!! My fiance and i went a year or two ago for our anniversary. First of all, it was completely dead on lunch time, which should have been a huge sign. We stood at the door for about 10 minutes before a girl came to seat us. After we were seated the waitress who did not introduce herself disappeared. We did not get any drinks. After about 20 minutes of absolutely no service or anyone is sight for that matter, we left. I have yet to see that place busy or hear anything decent about it. So glad the F McLintocks in SLO is here, it's 100% better. Very disappointed. We have yet to step foot in there since.

We lucked into this place looking to grab a burger in Paso Robles after 9 pm. Everything here was a pleasant surprise. The portions are generous. The salads that come with the burgers are more than an afterthought. I had a spinach salad and Andy S had the Caesar. The burgers come with more fries than anyone should be able to eat, but some of us manage to. ;)

The Baron...'nuff said! I like this place, been here a few times while visiting Paso. Food is great, service is mediocre... Its one of the best tasting burger meat you could have... and on a side note, the Ranch dressing is AMAZING! Eat the Baron if you dare, I have 2 pictures on the wall! :D

Ordered Take Out Beef Ribs, while waiting music was so loud, as well as other nearby patrons yelling we chose to wait outside. Paid 40 bucks for "raw, gristly, fatty" beef ribs, 3 bites of a side of rice pilaf, and beans. fairly good sweet potatoes fries 1.25 extra as an upgrade, and 1/2 order of very small baby backs. Called to complain and received no apology or offer of reimbursement. We won't be going back!

Having been coming to McLintocks for decades, I am still a big fan. The food is consistent and very good. These people know how to BBQ and it shows. The surroundings are very western and always interesting. Service has always been good, even when there are crowds. With a FULL bar come on in for a gimlet and any part of the cow you like. I am always glad I did.

This place is a cute, kitchy, cowboy style place to eat. The atmosphere puts you back on a ranch in the country. The menu boasts of different cuts of meats, preparations, and bbq. They instruct you how they cook their meats (rare, medium-rare, medium - well, well-done). However, the chef needs to be on board and cook the meat appropriately as requested for all cuts of meat. My sister ordered the rib eye medium rare and it was perfectly done. My son ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon medium rare and was disappointed that it came out medium well. The simple seasoning of salt and pepper on meats would be good on quality cut meats, but it just didn't seem that so for us. My sister and I ordered the special which was a sampler of tri-tip, chicken, and beef ribs. It seemed all overdone and dry. BBQ sauce they gave with it was ok...I like my homemade jack daniels BBQ sauce better. This place was recommended by one of the wineries we visited. Maybe because we had kids along with us, they thought it would be fun...but I think it's just an okay place.

The downtown blocks of Paso Robles have always been a favorite haunt of ours, one of the primary reasons for moving here for early retirement. McLintocks has all the amenities we look for in a hometown bar/restaurant. Afternoon Happy Hours (and all day Monday's) serve to provide a great atmosphere with outstanding food at good prices and friendly service with a smile. McLintocks has become a weekly stop where we feel welcomed! A good recommendation here!

I was in town on business and found myself with very few places to go on Easter Sunday. So me and a friend went in here and were treated well, great attitude and service, excellent cocktails, and the food was excellent - way above expectations. I had the 8oz Sirloin and my friend had a hamburger. It's a casual place w/ a lot to choose from. My steak was prepared perfectly and it was served w/ veggies, mashed potatoes, and a nice large crisp salad. We were lucky enough to chat w/ the GM, Neil and a cute waitress, Sara. They gave us info on places to check out like C15 and some Buon Tavola. Great friendly and helpful people, good comfort food and excellent service!! Oh, and extremely reasonable prices - a nice steak for under 15 dollars.

Another location to get "meat". The ribs and tri-tip are great. The company had our Christmas party here and we were able to have some of everything: pork chicken, tri-tip and all the sides. The salad was kind of blah, but everything else was well done. I like the decor and it's all good conversation fodder. The staff is friendly and pleasant. Be careful at lunch and dinner because they can be very busy.

Great Happy Hour prices in the bar!

It was in here that I noticed alot of locals all speak with a drawl. Which I found interesting being from out of state. The food was pretty good, I had the pull pork sandwich because the waitress recommended it as being one of the favorites next to the tri-tip sandwich. Heck, even the fries were good. Enjoyed the Firestone Velvet merlin on tap (which as it turns out is the local brewery) I'd go back. Service was fast and food was good enough for a repeat. The decor is very saloonish, high tin ceilings long shot gun bar with plenty of room for booths.

What a wonderful, easy place to eat in Paso Robles. We took my 96 year old uncle there and they treated him like gold. Plus there was no corkage fee for bringing a local wine! After a great and reasonably priced meal- we all had filet mignon with plenty of sides- they all sang happy birthday to him in a unique way. I will return!

Went there for my step-daughters birthday and it was possibly the worst dining experience I've had on the central coast. My wife had their version of a southwest salad, I had the western burger, and the birthday girl had nachos. My wife's was completely void of flavor and had ranch dressing all over the bottom of her plate. Mine was pretty bad and the fries were really cold and soggy. The nachos were covered with way too much cheese and sour cream and had almost no other ingredients. They didn't even put guacamole or chicken on it. We hate sending things back so the manager brought us out chicken and guacamole. The guacamole had fouled and they tried to hide it with a lot of lime juice, salt, and pepper. The only good thing about it was the manager, she was really nice and we felt bad for her. She offered us free dessert to make up for the bad experience, but we did not want anymore surprises.

Disclaimer: I didn't eat here. Because they wouldn't let me. We went there on a Sunday, at noon, for lunch. We were seated quickly, and given a breakfast menu. While I recognize that it was a Sunday, I was in the mood for lunch food and asked for a lunch menu. The waitress told me that she didn't think the lunch menu would be available for a while, because the kitchen hadn't yet made the switch. She went and asked and came back and told us that it would be 12:30 before they would be willing to take a lunch order. We looked at each other and got up and left. It's a restaurant, come on. It's not like I was asking for lunch at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday - I thought the refusal to offer a lunch menu was kind of ridiculous.

Definitely a locals joint. F. McLintocks does have a pretty good beer selection on tap, but it does not make up for the worse than average food. I would definitely head to greener pastures while rolling through town.

Good food and great service. My husband and I had no idea that the restaurant closed at 9:00 pm and we sat at our table talking until 9:45 and they never asked us to leave : ) The waitress was very attentive.

Did the Baron (of whatever) burger challenge tonight and for 25 bucks got a just ok 2 lb burger, fries, and a T shirt that's too small. Hardly worth the effort. Did finish the burger in less than 15 minutes (not much of a challenge), the only thing I choked on was the price. However, the service was pretty good ( a nice sight for these aging eyes, lol) and the beer was tasty and cold.

We stopped for a late lunch on a Friday. We had to park 3 blocks away because of construction. We were seated promptly and got our drinks right away, refills were, well few and far between. My wife had a mushroom chicken sandwich and I had a western burger. When they were delivered to our table our first thought was, holy cow that's big!!!! I bit into the hamburger and was in heaven; thick bacon, BBQ sauce, cheese- excellent. The fries were, disappointing. My wife bit into her sandwich and I immediately saw a problem; she pulled it apart and on one side it looked ok, on the other it was burned to a charcoaled crisp. How anyone could serve this is beyond me????? Then I tried to locate our server. Now mind you this is around 2 pm, no lunch rush. I couldn't find her. I waited patiently for about 5 minutes and finally approached the person at the register and asked him to get her for us. When she showed up and we showed her the "blackened" chicken breast her comment was, "A little too done for you?" Are you kidding me!?!?!?!! It was burnt (BURNT). She informed us that she could order another one but it would take 10 minutes to cook. We told her to do so and, imagine that, 10 minutes later my wife had a chicken breast on a side plate carried to her to incorporate into the existing sandwich? Wouldn't it have been more appropriate for her to bring a complete redo? Fresh fries, etc? I guess not. 50-50 here. My lunch was great, my wife's was burnt, no service, no drink refills, no offer to compensate us for the inconvenience. I must admit I liked my hamburger, the service, cooks and parking make this place a one time stop for us.

The place had a reputation for good meat and we went there expecting a great steak but what we got was Very Poor service and worse than that poor quality food. I ordered the tri tip, rib & chicken combo platter and the plate came out COLD, the ribs were either steamed or boiled but definitely not cooked over a BBQ the tri tip was well done not the med-rare that I ordered. To top it off the waitress copped an attitude when we brought the quality issues to her attention. The rest of the table had similar problems with their food mostly overdone and cold food. Never, never, never going back Its one thing to deliver poor service but no one should defend poor quality food.

Okay atmosphere, if you go for this sort of thing, I don't so much-- but our food was great. We had had an early dinner and wanted something later, it was almost 10pm-- and this town closes pretty early. We ended up here and ordered a beef rib plate, half rack of baby back ribs and a tri-tip sandwich. Yum. Good BBQ with a tasty sauce. Everyone really liked the fries too. Nice selection of tasty beers. Recommended.

We had dinner tonight after a drive down to Paso from Oakland. The meal was passable, but not excellent. My wife ordered her steak medium; it came rare. She had to send it back, whereupon it came back overcooked. By then, we were too hungry to argue. My ribeye was okay; somewhat stringy, but tasty. The waitress forgot my side, but quickly recovered. The atmosphere was definitely tourist/cowboy. Singing wait staff celebrating birthdays, etc. A decent meal after a long drive.

Awful food and service. Big disappointment. Waited a long time for overcooked burgers, inedible steak. Poor service. Our first trip to Paso, which has a lot of great places to eat. This isn't one of them.

paso does fine wine, but they don't really do fine dining. at least not compared to sf. the decor is modern day cowboy musem maintained by country folk. the food is large and beef, with a side of beef if you like. the wait staff is young and energetic. overall this place was the paso robles equivalent of a claim jumper. personally l like them better than claim jumper by just a bit.

We went for my son's birthday recently and found the quality and quantity to have gone down considerably. It appears they are surviving off their previous reputation. The meat was tough and the baked potato was approximately 3". What a shame. Our family has been going to McLintocks at all their locations since I was a child. I will not be returning unless I hear they have returned to their previous standards.

Food was good and prices decent. Got the Santa Maria trip tip special. Meat was a little tough. Will try medium instead of med well next time. cowboy beans and cheese bread was great. OK selection of beer. Service was adequate after they realized we were waiting to order...

We ordered the shrimp skewers and they came out RAW! My bf was half way through his meal when he let me have a taste and I realized the shrimp was gray and veiny. The pulled pork sandwich was disgusting it had a bad aftertaste and tasted like they reheated it in the microwave. The garlic fries were soggy and not properly tossed in the minced garlic that was just plopped straight from the jar. The price to pay definitely was not worth it. Will not be coming back.

Worst meal ever! Potato skins were cold and slimy, served with cheap ranch dressing, cheese was oily and sitting on top. Sliders were horrible. Chicken slider drowning in BBQ sauce, all fat and dark meat. Little burgers were charbroiled and cooked well well done, jn other words burned. Served on stale buns, no condiments. I asked for pickles and was told they were out of pickles for the evening. No ketchup in bottle, no mustard, no salt and pepper. Took three tries to get silverware and napkins. Would never go back as this was a horrible meal, served by a inattentive waitress cooked by someone who wanted to close up and go home. We got there at 830 so there should have been plenty of time to have decent food. Tourists beware!! A complete waste of money.

We stopped in for lunch at about 12:30 on a Holiday Monday. We are from out of town; however, we were visiting some relatives that live locally in Paso Robles. We were seated pretty promptly, at a nice booth, back by the kitchen. The only criticism I have, is that our server was clearly overworked, as he was handling way too many tables. Other than that, everything else was good. I give the food that we got very high marks. Three of the four at the table ordered the Pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Gosh, it was AWESOME!! Really, really tasty. We got the garlic fries on my side of the table, which were just ok. I also got the Black and Blue Burger (I shared this with someone else, along with the pulled pork). We asked for the burger to be cooked Medium, and it was cooked perfectly. It was delicious, with nice thick slices of Bacon, and a generous amount of blue cheese. We were even given the nice free chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I would again say overall, with the exception of the clear understaffing with the servers, I would definitely return again if I was in the area.

Nasty. Waste of money. The shrimp tasted artificial - definitely farm-raised...disappointing for a Central Coast restaurant. Calamari was better but dredged in butter. Wines were warm, old, mediocre for the price and the area's offerings. Mash was ok but nothing special. Only bright spot - super nice server.

I've lived on the Central Coast for over 10 years and during that time I've eaten at McLintocks about a dozen times. Usually, it's with a large group of friends who are all "pre-gaming." More recently my gal friends and I have tried to make this place our go-to for girls night. The first time was just OK, ordered the nachos and they were huge! I'd asked for extra OLIVES and somehow that was misunderstood as extra JALAPENOS. My mouth was on fire, but nachos are nachos and they weren't bad. We had a young lady named Roney as our waitress and she was very sweet and attentive. The second time we tried them for GNO I got a big salad and some fries. Bizarrely enough, the fries were cold and the salad was wilted under steaming hot chicken. We did have to wait quite a while for our food so we figure it sat around a while before it was brought out. Service was middle of the road. The orders were correct, but our drinks ran dry after our appetizers and were never refilled. The last (and I do mean last) time we came in was the straw that broke the camels back. Not sure if our waitress was new or just sucked. Sorry! But she never introduced herself, she never made eye contact and she never returned after dropping off our food except to drop off our check. The food was a HUGE miss on this day as well. Our orders were incorrect and COLD again. I ordered a pork chop, beans and a potato. All were sitting nearly untouched on my plate when she brought the check so were all of my girlfriends sides and the waitress didn't ask a single time how the food was. Never refilled our drinks, never offered dessert. It was totally bizarre. I think I will leave this place to the out of towners from now one, they don't know any better!

Very disappointed. Ordered a mojoto to drink. Tasty enough. Ordered the sliders as the appetizer. We got a variety; one pulled pork, one chicken, one tri-tip and one cheeseburger slider. The tri-tip was delicious, the chicken had a slight mildew taste and the pulled pork sauce tasted like a very salty tomato paste and the cheeseburger slider was pathetically undercooked. Looked as if it was frozen when it was put on the grill. Bright red throughout the entire inside! A couple of drinks into my mojoto, I found a bunch of bugs in my drink. Turns out the mint was not washed and had mites all over it. Had to call the manager over and cancel our order. Totally lost our appetite.

Edit 07/2015 Stopped going here because it smelled like cow poop by the front door. When we asked two waitresses separately they said "what smell?" but both had a look in their eyes like they knew exactly what i was talking about... After pressing one waitresses she said "Yeah we get asked that often, but you get use to it after a bit." Yeah well maybe after a few drinks but not this guy.. I don't care for the smell of barn/farm at the dinning room. Clean it up guys. I'm bummed because i use to like going here at least twice a month.. ------Original Post 11/2014------ 4-stars Good place to get a burger and a drink. My wife and I have or usual order and we enjoy it every time. It's not fancy, but it's fun. It's our go-to place to relax and talk over a meal. Everyone gotta have a place like that, and this ours.. cheers

I've also tried the place in San Luis Obispo, however, when I lived in Paso Robles, my co-workers and I always went here. The place is nice, always packed during happy hour. I don't drink, so, no review with the alcohol. The food... I've tried only the tri-tip from there regular menu and it was massive and delicious! Very tender, packed with onions and bar-b-que sauce and lots of fries! However, we come here for the happy hour appetizers. Man, the nachos are massive and for a under five bucks! The sliders are really great as well and the garlic fries. Great environment to send time with friends or family and great food. The servers are friendly and the price is firm. Great place, great food.

Place is run down, food was just ok, probably better at Applebee's, for a steak house it needs revamping.

Service can be awful, or great, depending on bartender or server. Definitely need to hire illegal Mexican cooks, as the legal "chefs" are not dependable. They usually don't overcook the salad, however. Happy hour prices and food is the saving grace, as well as having a great bar atmosphere. Would not take a group to eat dinner here unless I got them schnockered at the bar first. Also, try to avoid the days when the homeless crew comes through and urinates all over the bar area. It gets really smelly on those days.

Good atmosphere. Good drinks. Food sucks. They could be a lot better if they re-evaluated their food, Paso location specifically.

Came here for Valentines Day with our friends. It was pretty good. A little on the expensive side, but we enjoyed ourselves. The pomodoro pasta was really great. I don't know if it was worth $16, but it was pretty good. Not much of a drink menu in the restaurant area. Our waiter was a little distracted, he was really busy and didn't have much help. But overall, it was a good experience.

this place is eiewww gross. The food is not good every time I give it "another try".... A fail every time. There is grease all over this place. The server I had was rude, and flirted with her boyfriend who worked there in the bar I thnk. My kids hot dog was half frozen and they offered to get another which took forever.... And they didn't even take it off the bill. The food is just basic nothing to call home about. It is just your basic, basic, trying to be a bbq place but not cutting it. I am not a fan. I am not a fan of dusty old stuffed bears and mountain lions staring at me while I eat. I don't know I have never liked this place and given it so many shots to win me back but it fails every single time. It is expensive for what you get and they use low grade meat and products. The burger meat was one of those thick frozen pattys that have no taste at all. Sorry but with In n out around the corner you may be in trouble. I have a few suggestions: Maybe buy a thinner patty with more flavor like a "harris ranch beef" patty. Maybe promote that you use harris ranch beef and you will get more customers. People like quality. Maybe you need a re vamp in some areas. Like the food. Maybe you can get a de grease cleaning crew in there and spruce up the place. Maybe tell your employees that social time is after work and that customers have eyes and see EVERYTHING...... I don't know just a few ideas. You can't please them all but... you can at least try a few new things to maybe possibly bring in more people. the place has potential. History can't pay the bills. Customers can. I understand the place has been here forever but quality, service and atmosphere will keep the place going for years to come. just a suggestion. Honestly I would pass if anyone asked me if they should eat there. Sorry but I am honest. My opinion may not be what everyone else thinks but Its mine and this is a NO GO from me. don't waste your time.

Pleasant surprises all around! We wanted to check this place out while in town. We checked in and they had a coupon for a free appetizer at the hotel. When we got there it was happy hour all day Monday! $3 pints, woot! We ordered chicken fried steak, slider appetizer and a side salad. All of it was very tasty, and when I asked for extra BBQ sauce, well see my photo!

I've eaten here 4 or 5 times. Two times ago there was an issue with my ribs, temperature I think, but the manager comped them so I felt taken care of enough to return. It was a Saturday afternoon and this place can get packed. Wait an hour plus kind of packed, so I asked the wife to call and see about availability. They said come in by 6 and you are set. When we arrived the host didn't have a reservation for us, said if we called that day they didn't make them and the wait would be an hour or less. Thought about heading down the line, but the wife verified and found they scribbled her down for 6pm after a cancelation, WHEW! The dining room is fun, rustic. The service playful and on top of it. Drink two sips of water and a water boy is quick to refill from 2 feet away. I'm sure other reviews will detail. We took our time ordering and enjoyed the nice Pacific Ocean view right outside our first row seating. You get free onion rings as appetizers and they are very good. They keep coming as many as you want. Beats peanuts and shells on the floor. All dinners come with (all you can eat) fried potatoes, beans and garlic bread. Our potatoes were a little under, but they tasted great, like they were fried in bacon fat. I'm sure if I asked for some well done it would have happened lickity split. The beans were amazing, second bowl for sure, tempted for a third plus you can bring some home. They are ranch style I guess and perhaps a little pork in there for big flavor. Garlic bread, of which I'm a fan and aficionado was just ok. Fried on the flat top type, not real garlicky. On to the steaks...yes there is more! I ordered a Kansas City Strip (NY on the bone.$35) When I cut in, it seemed a little overdone for medium. The waitress agreed and offered to take it back. No, it was fine. Later, nearer the bone it was medium so hats off to the chefs. The entrees were served with green beans and a little watercress, fancy fancy. Both were fresh, vibrant green and delicious. Wife ordered the baby back ribs ($31 half) They were good as well. My daughter had a steak from the kids menu ($8) and cleaned her plate. My son ordered the kids mac and cheese, but wasn't very happy with it. More adult mac than Kraft mac my wife observed. He got three refills on the shirley temple though! They have a decent selection of all local wines. I had the "troublemaker," ($10) one of two on "keg". It took a little while to open up, but then was accurately described and went well with my meat. Next time I'm ordering a top sirloin. Several were served at the next table and they all looked really good, nice dark shiny color and juicy. The KC was ok, meat was very flavorful but not quite as nice of char. And if that's not enough, hell have a scopp of ice cream or adults a choice of liqoors included as well. Can you say stuffed. Can you also not mention anything about food for 90 minutes after eating here. They have a happy hour in the bar with very good food deals($3). Usually live music. Kids get to pick a small toy from the "saddle bag." Make A Reservation!! Go Hungry. Bring Pillow for ride home.

Went to McLintocks to celebrate a bonus from work - MISTAKE!!! We got there after 8 but had called ahead and was told they were open until 9:00 so we should have had plenty of time. The NBA finals were on but we were seated in one of the only tables that didn't have a view of ANY of their televisions (which was in the back corner). Since we didn't know what we wanted to drink when we were seated we had to wait 10 minutes or so until the server came to take our food order. I ordered the fish tacos and the bf ordered the shrimp. The food was fine, not exceptional by any means but fine (which is why 2 stars instead of 1). Then we were forgotten: no, "How is everything tasting?" no "Can I get you another drink?" no "Did we leave room for dessert?" just a long long wait with our plates in front of us after we were done eating followed by the bill. Very "wham bam thank you ma'am". Really put a damper on our celebration night - kissing McLintocks good-bye after this one.

Really good specials. Try the prime rib on Fridays. Also, bring a bottle of wine from the day's wine tasting trip: No corkage fee for local wines!

Alright just avoid this place all together. It was my sisters birthday and my other family was from out of town so there was about 11 of us on a Saturday afternoon and they wanted to squeeze us on some undersize table that wouldn't seat 11 comfortably. We noticed they had that whole sectioned off space through the doors that was completely empty and suggested maybe we could sit there. They responded by saying how it wasn't the right time of day when they usually open that area up. They attempted to accommodate us by suggesting we put our party at two separate tables. Really??? Family from out of town and we are all trying to be together not separated by being sat at different tables. Horrible accommodations. Oh and BTW that was the manager attempting to reasonably accommodate us. Kudos to his excellent managerial skill. In the end we took the eleven of us some place else. Also, the 400 dollars we spent else where. I mean only 400 dollars but still Its January and every restaurant is struggling.

STAY AWAY! What an awful place! This place is a JOKE. Save your money & go somewhere else instead. It's amateur hour run by a bunch of freaking clowns. Clearly they don't know how to handle a large table. Ringing people up incorrectly, not returning credit cards, serving raw, cold food. 4 people in our party received undercooked meat and the food was so bad that I would rather starve to death than eat this garbage. The person working the grill that night needs to be shot. What an embarrassment!!!!! You call yourself a chef? Shame on you!! I would hang myself if I I put out product like that. Take some pride in what you do!!! This place should just stick to pouring drinks & not making food. Please, Please, Please, if you're considering this place.....DON'T! Keep walking & you're bound to find something...ANYTHING better than this crap.

For the price ($$; dinner), the food was just okay, nothing to write home about; one order (out of 10) had to be sent back (well done steak instead of med-rare as ordered) and another needed further attention (sauce for dry pasta). They also charged nearly $2 extra for veggie side dish instead of beans etc. with a steak; veggies were overcooked also. Finally, the service was haphazard and slow. The staff were not very attentive. We won't be going back.
